“I grew up in a strict Muslim family. My father and grandfather were Mullahs. It was a battle to accept to Jesus. My brother encouraged me to read the Bible a couple of times. When I read the Word of God, my heart was filled with a peace that I had never experienced before. “One night in a dream, I found myself drowning in dirty water. I cried out to Mohammed, Allah, and other prophets, but I received no answer. Then in the dream, I remembered that my brother had said I could ask Jesus for help. When I called out to Jesus, a hand pulled me out of the dirty water and placed me on a white ship, and then I saw him, a person in white, shining very brightly. Jesus opened the eyes of my heart, and I realized that He was the truth. God also healed me from a sickness. “I lived in India at that time, and I had an opportunity to attend a Discipleship Training School (DTS). My life was changed, and I got to know God more intimately; God transformed my heart. I learned more about the True and Living God, understanding His character and nature. It was a revelation to realize that Almighty God desired a deep, personal relationship with me, “he desired to speak to me as a Father talks to His children. In my heart, a desire grew to reach out to my own people, the Afghans, and share the truth with them. My dream was to see a DTS start in my home country. In the end of 2010, God called me back to Afghanistan for His ministry, and in 2013, we began our ministry in Afghanistan. Over the next years we focused on church planting, with our first church established in 2014, and the church grew across the country.”

“I was born in 1990 in Bamiyan province in a moderate Muslim family. From childhood to adolescence, as I was growing up, religious teachings took root in my mind and heart. In the area where I lived, people were mainly involved in farming. Due to the intensity of the work, I didn’t have the opportunity to worship because I went to school early in the morning and worked on land in the afternoon. I came to Kabul in 2006 and decided to finish the rest of my education in Kabul. In Kabul, I was provided a suitable opportunity. I studied Islamic teachings with full enthusiasm for two years and promised myself to be a true Muslim. As I learned more about Islam, the fences around me increased. I believed that all people were going to hell since no one conformed to the Islamic law. As I was getting deeper into religion, my beliefs had been pushing my life into a tight cage. I was full of anger and bitterness. All of this continued until God opened my eyes. The closer I got to Islam, the more my despair and depression increased, and my life was lacking happiness and hope. I was a very intolerant and harsh person and judged the behaviours and motives of people. I finally asked a question why my frustration, depression and anger are increasing every day? I heard about Jesus Christ in 2009. Christianity seemed to be a ridiculous and worthless religion for me when I heard about it for the first time. Then I decided to hear more about Jesus Christ and research. God changed my heart and mind through a verse in Matthew 11:28. When I came across this verse, I felt that God took the burden of all my worries from me and saved me through this verse. When I heard this verse, I realized that I received what I had been searching for. In 2010, I fully believed in Jesus and surrendered my life to him. God saved me from Hell that was created by Islamic beliefs. When I believed in Jesus Christ, I felt that I had passed from darkness into light. It completely converted me to Christ through faith in Jesus Christ. I understood that Christ is worth following and that I should live for Him. I promised God and myself that I will live for the glory of His name, and I will not give up my faith under any circumstances. In the first year of my faith, I was able to evangelize some of my friends and invite them to the gathering of believers. I am grateful to God that although I did not care about Jesus Christ at first, He cared about me. I fought with him for years and acted against him, but Jesus Christ loved me, granted me salvation and took my heavy burdens, sin and disappointments on his shoulder.

I was born in Afghanistan in a Muslim family. From a young age, I followed the religion and teachings that were expected of me. I went to the mosque and learned the lessons I was taught. But even while doing these things, I still had deep questions inside my heart:
“Why am I alive? What is the purpose of my life? And where do I stand before God?”
The idea of God that I had in my mind was of someone far away, strict, and hard to reach. This made me feel afraid, unsure, and empty inside. I could not find peace, and I felt lost in many questions and a broken sense of identity.
During this time, I came across a Christian page on social media. That moment led me into many conversations and questions. Later, I received a copy of the Holy Bible. At first, I read it only to examine it and try to prove it wrong. But the more I read, the more the truth of God’s Word became clear to me. I learned that the Bible is not just an old book or a group of stories. It is a living message that speaks to the heart. Through it, I came to know a God whose love is real and whose presence is near. He became human to call me His child, gave His life on the cross for my sins, and rose again to offer salvation as a gift.
In the Bible, I discovered that salvation does not come from our own efforts, good behavior, or religious works. It is the free gift of God’s grace, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I became sure that only in Him there is true forgiveness, real freedom, and a new identity.
In late 2016, after much searching and inner struggle, I came to God with faith. I confessed my sins and trusted in what Jesus did on the cross. I received Him as the Savior and Lord of my life. From that moment, a deep peace entered my heart, a peace I had never known before. The darkness, fear, and emptiness slowly changed into hope, confidence, and a new purpose.
Today, I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Shepherd of my soul. God’s Word is alive and meaningful to me. Prayer is my close relationship with my Father in heaven, and the Holy Spirit is working in me day by day, helping me grow to become more like Christ. I am still growing, but I know I am safe in His grace because He accepted me, forgave me, set me free, and gave me new life.
I also confess with full certainty that the only way of salvation is Jesus Christ, the One who died for me, rose again, and is alive today.
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
